Autumn is my favorite season. It has an air of mystery, and teases us about upcoming holidays. I love the colors and the playfulness. And I get to wear sweaters!
I am often asked, “What should I wear to a club?” Without knowing more about the specific club, I often recommend a racer-style (not biker) black leather jacket. The streamlined, minimalist jacket is upscale without being ostentatious, and exudes masculine attitude while being quietly stylish. You can wear it with a shirt and tie to be dressy but hip, or wear it with a t-shirt for a more relaxed look.
So a certain someone has caught your eye, and you’d like to get to know her better. What do you do in Second Life — and what do you wear — to make a great first impression?
If there’s one pair of pants every guy needs for summer, it’s chinos. They dress up or down, they are as comfortable as jeans, and they are cool, breathable cotton. And don’t mind the wrinkles – that’s what gives them that style cachet.
Lapointe & Bastchild is a Second Life classic. I commend them because while continuing to honor the Goth roots that made them so popular a decade ago, they have evolved and stayed fresh with their mainstream S’Wear range. A lot of creators were unable to make that shift, but L&B continues to be one of the best on the grid.
I could have been the Hoorenbeek poster boy. The Hoorenbeek men’s clothing store was like the cathedral of regular-guy clothes. When they converted to mesh, they were unbeatable. It was the go-to place for men’s wardrobe basics, especially shoes. I bought almost everything they made—suits, jackets, jeans, shorts, sneakers, dress shoes, tuxedos, coats, boots, t-shirts and more. I was a walking ad.
It is the beginning of summer as I create my first posts on this blog. But as I am just starting out, I’m going to begin by backtracking a season or two, to highlight some of my favorite things.
