When you need to connect with your inner barbarian, it’s good to have a companion.
Twilight
Day 5 of Fantasy Week and while wandering through Fantasy Faire 2019 I am drawn to the dark mystic beauty of Twilight Spring, one of the 16 fantasy worlds that comprise the Faire. Descending into a deep ravine, the dim lighting, accented with rich purples and gleaming crystals, draws one even deeper.
Ice and Fire
Bran Stark: “Can a man still be brave if he’s afraid?”
Ned Stark: “That is the only time a man can be brave.”
It’s Day 4 of Fantasy Week, and RIOT has released a set of Game of Thrones-inspired outfits for The Epiphany April gacha event.
Prince Charming
“Love is a portion of the soul itself, and it is of the same nature as the celestial breathing of the atmosphere of paradise.”
–Victor Hugo
France is still much on my mind, so for Day 3 of Fantasy Week, we journey to the Belle Epoque.
Defender
“People sleep peaceably in their beds at night only because rough men stand ready to do violence on their behalf.”
Winter is Coming
“You are a mirror reflecting a noble face.
The universe is not outside of you.
Look inside yourself;
Everything you want,
You already are.”
–Rumi
Fantasy Friday: Dragon Aspect
From time to time in Second Life, I have been known to assume the aspect of dragons. The transformation may be as subtle as the appearance of silver scales on my skin… or as dramatic as this full anthro dragon avatar from JOMO.
Fantasy Friday: The Silk Road
Keeping to the Friday Fantasy theme: here on Qoheleth we have a sumptuous lounge in the style of an opium den, swathed in richly dyed silks, where one can partake of exotic pleasures, from absinthe to intimate conversation and more…
Fantasy Friday: Of Service
“I slept and dreamt that life was joy. I awoke and saw that life was service. I acted and behold, service was joy.”
–Rabindranath Tagore
Irish Fantasy
Faeries, come take me out of this dull world,
For I would ride with you upon the wind,
Run on top of the disheveled tide,
And dance upon the mountains like a flame!
–W.B. Yeats, “The Land of Heart’s Desire” 1894
